Meet Cody & Jake
We started our marketing agency in 2019.
After a few years in business we passed $250k in annual revenue, then Jake brought up the idea of starting a podcast.
He was sick and tired of fake gurus shilling crappy courses, using rented lambos and private jets to project a fake image of success.
He wanted to talk about REAL business — the boring, unsexy work that goes into building a legitimate operation, and to document our own journey of growing an agency.
I said sure, as long as it's fun.
If you've listened to the podcast, you know we do things differently.
Between each other and with guests, we take the walls down and talk honestly about the reality of agency life.
It's our way of bringing credibility back to the industry.

Anyway, you probably want to know a little more about us.
Here's a quick rundown.
Jake and I met and worked together at an automotive marketing agency in 2015. Jake was an account manager and handled client relations, and I was a strategist doing SEO and running Google Ads. We both left for better opportunities. Over the next few years, we levelled up our skills at our day jobs and by freelancing or working on our own projects on nights and weekends. We teamed up in 2019, side-hustled until our agency made enough to leave the agencies where we worked, and have been doing that ever since.
When it comes to running an agency, we're not going to pretend like we know everything. What we can say is that we've both been in the agency world for over a decade. We're not new, and we're still in the trenches, just like you.
